The purpose of the undergraduate curriculum is to prepare students for beginning-level generalist social work practice with systems of all sizes or to pursue advanced professional studies at the graduate level. The advisor for this program is Dr. The BASW is a professional degree which makes it different from another sort of major.
The Council on Social Work Education, the body which accredits social work education programs, says that a student must be accepted into the BASW program. As such you are expected to become a professional and to demonstrate professional behavior while completing your BASW. If you are admitted into the BASW program you will undertake a field placement near the end of your program of study while you are taking advanced practice and research courses.
You will graduate as a generalist social work practitioner. Salisbury University requires that students earn credits distributed across General Education requirements, major requirements, and electives.
